nmctl is no more maintained I propose you a small script allowing you to easily manage your networks connections. This script is integrated within the openbox dynamic menus. Moreover, it allow you to automatically have the connections you have pre-defined based.

On some machines we are forced to perform the not recommended upgrade procedure. Since several years I'm applying this method on 2 of my machines without problems. But, after the upgrade process of OpenBSD from 6.0 to 6.1, syspatch was not running as it should.

I've read several articles concerning the setup of OpenVPN on OpenBSD. But I've decided to post this one because none I've read address the problem coming from the setuid. Indeed, to avoid that OpenVPN stays in memory with the root user, you can configure it to setuid to an anther user, usually _openvpn. Problem, when you close the connection, this user must have the correct rights to set back your networks configuration settings: route, resolv.conf.

In my previous post, I've explained how easy it is to install a desktop environment on OpenBSD. I've used the Lumina Desktop Environment because it's a complete desktop environment (file manager, panel, task bar, ...). Moreover Lumina is developed on BSD systems (FreeBSD), it's new and it's a promising desktop environment. In this post I'll explain how and why I'm using Openbox for my desktops, why Openbox is my preferred window manager, and I will share some tips.
